Pee Pressure by Shobha De

I don't write much but this thing when came to my knowledge or rather my awareness it was interesting to get to know about this aspect of Indian society. I actually was going through my weekly magazine THE WEEK just when I bumped onto the article by a regular columnist Shobha De, title Pee Pressure. The article clearly mentioned about the pathetic conditions of women when the feel the urge to go to have a pee and there is nowhere to go. Boys/Men do not have this problem because they just need a corner to do it, a narrow alley, space between two buildings, a bush, pillar you name it and you will find almost at all the places men can pee. But the story for women/girls is whole lot different, they have to find a urinal to empty their bowels and public urinals in India as we know are art masterpieces, men can do with that but not the women.

This holding up of urine is bad not only for women but also for men because this leads to toxicity levels increased in body. Moreover women have a smaller urinary duct(that carries urine out of the body) which means greater chances of urinary track infections as pointed out by Mrs.De

I'm concerned about this because many of my female friends who can talk almost any thing with me have mentioned this problem over and over again and sometimes I feel pity for them simply for the face that when I'm in a an important session of a meeting and suddenly I feel an urge to go, and when I'm not able to go to loo even within 15 minutes it feels as if my bladder will burst as soon as I urinate, and then I think of girls /women when they have to wait for hours and hours before they finally get to do it.

So not a matter to have a laugh and make fun of, a very serious matter so spread the awareness, and to all fellow men, we know women can't compete with us on this so please show a little mercy on the other half of the world and at least try not to soil or spoil the public urinals, this is the least we could do. I may sound feminist on this but believe me many of you would agree with me on this.
